My Newest Book Cover

I had fun designing the cover for The Parts of Him I Kept by Natasha Williams, who hired me to design her debut memoir. All my layouts for her are in this slide show, including the final design.

All layouts are based on key chapters of her growing up in the seventies with a schizophrenic father in New York City. I used American Typewriter, a popular font in the seventies, to reflect on the period.

Editorial Covers

A successful cover is crucial in capturing the reader’s attention. These illustrated covers play a significant role in setting the tone and visually representing the narrative. The covers created are always produced in close collaboration with the art director since typography is a big part of a new cover.

New Yorker Covers

You found my pet peeve: my New Yorker Cover proposals. In the long run, I will claw all my submissions to this corner of my website. It will require a deep dive into my flat files to find my oldest analog cover proposals.
