I fell in love with the graphic industry in the last century and I still love the possibilities of words in typography, the tonality of photography, the signal-like-directness of graphic design, and the storytelling quality of illustration. My journey includes the knowledge of the analog past and digital present. I like distilling ideas as part of my profession, and when the client or art director gives me the go-ahead for a final, I regroup and ensure the best possible final.
A while back, I decided to do a career shift and pursue an old dream of mine: to illustrate picture books. My hope for our time is that children's books will continue to be printed in the future, as they are tactile and hold the fascinating event of the visual page-turn. I strongly believe in the intimate moment of reading out loud to children. As a visual story-teller, I enjoy figuring out what is said with words and what is illustrated, creating a narrative that is best experienced in the tangible form of a printed book.

1. Getting Started
All projects start with an initial conversation, some with text, others with visuals, sketches, photos, and mood boards. Gathering all the required materials can be elaborate and rewarding. If your starting point is defined with a manuscript or an outline, that is a great start.

There is no universal strategy. Each task is an investigation that arises unexpectedly. We might, for instance, come up with an idea getting to know you.
